English Proficiency Waivers:
- If all transfer criteria (60 units and “Golden Four” with grade of C- or better) have been completed at a U.S. institution
- If some of your transfer criteria (60 units and “Golden Four” with grade of C- or better) have been completed at a foreign college or university, then you must take the TOEFL, IELTS or Duolingo exam and earn the minimum score indicated above. Please have your scores sent to Cal Poly Pomona directly from the test agency
- Countries where English is the national language include: Antigua, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bermuda, Botswana, Canada (except Québec), Ghana, Guyana, Ireland, Jamaica, Kenya, New Zealand, Nigeria, Scotland, South Africa, Trinidad, the United Kingdom, the United States, Virgin Islands and Wales
After you submit your Cal State Apply application, you may be asked to provide CPP Office of Admission with your college transcripts. Only provide the transcripts (if requested) by the stated deadline in your applicant portal.
Applicants who apply to non-impacted majors and are from local area schools (Mt. Sac and Citrus Colleges) who meet the minimum CSU eligibility transfer requirements will be admitted. Impacted majors will be held to a higher admission eligibility and/or required additional pre-requisite courses.
Requirements for Transfers who are from non-U.S. colleges/universities (If you have attended or are currently attending a college/university outside of the U.S.)
- 60 semester credits (approximately 2 years) from an accredited college/university
- At least 1 courses of College level Mathematics
- Good Academic Standing
Additional courses for impacted majors are strongly recommended (but not required). Such courses will help demonstrate your preparation for the impacted major, and may be used for admission consideration.

- If admitted to the university, you will need to provide OFFICIAL transcripts along with certified translations
