International Agreement

California State University (CSU) recognizes the education-related benefits of international activity and its integral role in the institution's mission. At CPP, all international exchange agreements are reviewed and approved by both the CSU Chancellor’s Office and the CPP president. Handshake Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) are approved solely by the CPP president.  A list of current and past CPP international partners can be viewed here.

Proposing a New International Agreement

The international agreement proposal process and the timeline for developing and approving an international agreement vary by type. For Handshake MOU international agreements, please contact Global Education Institute at gei@cpp.edu. To propose a Student Exchange Agreement, please contact the Office of Study Abroad at studyabroad@cpp.edu and fill out the Agreement Proposal.

Handshake MOU

MOUs are general statements of mutual interest that explore opportunities for collaboration. The Handshake MOU agreement is ceremonial in nature, is explicitly non-binding, and does not commit any university funds, staff, facilities, or other resources.

Student Exchange Agreement

The Student Exchange Agreement sets forth the terms and conditions to establish a bilateral reciprocal tuition exchange program with an overseas university. Typically, exchange refers to a "one-for-one exchange."

Other International Agreements

There are various other types of international agreements including Third-Party Provider, Study Abroad, Non-degree seeking Agent, and faculty/research related agreements.  Please contact GEI or the Office of Study Abroad to discuss other agreements.
