About Paula Sandoval
Paula Sandoval was a 25-year employee of Cal Poly Pomona. Her contributions and dedication to this University, the students, and the surrounding community made a positive impact on countless lives. As the Graduate Studies Analyst for Academic Programs, she assisted students in achieving their academic goals. Paula participated in Staff Council, the Posada Planning Committee, the Latino Faculty, Staff and Student Association, and several other organizations at Cal Poly Pomona.
A 17-year cancer survivor, Paula was an active volunteer for the City of Hope and The American Cancer Society (ACS). She worked in special events such as Daffodil Days, a program the she helped implement and coordinate at Cal Poly Pomona. She was also active in programs like "Making Strides," "Jail and Bail," and other events to help raise awareness and funds for cancer research and aid cancer survivors and their families. In 1994 and 1996, Paula received two certificates of appreciation for leadership and dedication from the ACS Inland Valley Unit board of directors and for her support of Daffodil Days at Cal Poly Pomona. Paula said, "That's what ACS is all about, people helping people. My hope is that we be able to reach out and help those that need our help." Paula Sandoval passed away on September 11, 2001.
