Mastering the Thesis Statement

This workshop will be presented by Dr. Karen Tellez-Trujillo, Assistant Professor in English & Modern Languages, Cal Poly Pomona.

Join fellow graduate student writers and Dr. Tellez-Trujillo from English and Modern Languages as she goes through the thesis statement creation process using examples from others’ work, while also helping attendees form and revise their own thesis statements. We will work with a brief process for forming thesis statements that start out nice and simple and become more elegant as we progress through our writing projects.

Mental Health and Wellness

This workshop will be presented by Rachel Phillips-Lee, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, Counseling and Psychological Services, Cal Poly Pomona.

In this workshop on Mental Health and Wellness for Graduate Students, you will learn how to incorporate more balance and self-care into your life in order to take care of your mental health. You will learn signs to recognize burnout, review ways to balance taking care of your responsibilities with taking care of yourself, and explore different forms of self-care. The aim of this workshop is to increase awareness of mental health and how to take care of your overall mental health and wellness.
