Coding with Minecraft
Many students in K-12th grades are already avid players of the Minecraft world, and it's no wonder. Minecraft is critically acclaimed; winning several awards and is being cited as one of the greatest video games of all time.
While the video game is truly exciting, students in this program will explore the world of Minecraft from a totally different perspective – the coding perspective. Our instructors will harness the student's interest in this game and connect it to applicable code, experiments, and creativity. Students will “mod” their own worlds, code their characters, and customize each scene.
Coding with Minecraft prepares students for the future, building future-ready skills like creativity, problem solving and systems thinking, and nurturing a passion for play.
Benefits of Minecraft in the classroom include:
- Helping students learn problem-solving techniques
- Supporting reading and writing skills
- Stimulating curious minds
- Improving math skills
- Teaching the benefits of teamwork
- Increasing self-confidence
Reimagine what education looks like as students gain new skills within their personalized digital environments that they coded themselves!
