Issuing Digital Badges
Visit Badgr Support for a step-by-step guide to creating badges.
There are three program levels with different definitions for each.
-
“Explorer” - Your earner can recognize and define the content outside of the classroom.
-
“Implementer" - In addition to defining the content, your earner can now analyze and experiment with it beyond what they were taught.
-
“Master” - While defining and implementing the content taught, your earner can now critique the content and produce original new work with it, showing a mastery.
The Badgr Backpack is an area of the Badgr website unique to each earner. The Badgr Backpack is where you can store and fully interact with any of the Open Badges earned. Badgr-awarded badges will be automatically added to a user's backpack. Non-Badgr badges may be manually uploaded to a Badgr Backpack.
Yes! To learn how to edit a badge, visit Badgr Support’s manual award help page.
Yes. Adding an expiration date to a badge can be done when the badge is created or when it's awarded. If the expiration is set at the time the badge is created, the expiration will persist with each badge awarded. If you set an expiration when the badge is awarded, it will apply only to that badge. To learn more, visit Badgr Support’s expiration date page.
Yes! Badgr allows program administrators to award badges (in bulk) to a group of recipients. You may include optional metadata such as evidence and narrative to the badge(s) that may be the same or specific to each user. Keep in mind that this can only be done in batches of 50 or less. To learn how, visit Badgr Support’s bulk recipients page.
Yes, but only on an individual basis. Revoking a badge removes the assertion from the badge, and anyone who attempts to verify it will determine that the badge is not valid. To learn more, visit Badgr Support’s revoke page.
Badgr badges and pathways do integrate with Canvas. To learn more, visit the Canvas course page on Badgr Support.
