Philharmonic Orchestra

The Cal Poly Pomona Philharmonic Orchestra is open to all music majors, minors, and non-music majors interested in performing traditional and contemporary orchestral music. We recognize the importance of continuing to play after high school, to keep balance in a person's life.  An audition is required to join, and students are expected to hold themselves to the highest standards of performance quality.  Instrumentalists will gain broad nonverbal and leadership skills, a familiarity with orchestral traditions and revolutions, and a deeper sensitivity to the power of musical expression. Members of the ensemble will experience a wide variety of musical styles and also enjoy opportunities to form chamber groups and to participate in Festival events. They also represent the university at special occasions on and off campus.
