Care Center
If you need support and don't know where to begin, start with the Care Center. The center is providing comprehensive support for affected students, including:
- Emergency Housing
- Emergency funding through the Basic Needs Grant
- Basic needs, including clothing and personal hygiene items
- Connecting with your instructors
- Laptops and hotspots

Enrollment, Academic, and Financial Aid Support
Offices across the university will work with affected students to ensure you get the help you need, including with the following:
- Admissions
- Assistance for Spring 2025 incoming students and Fall 2025 applicants
- Financial Aid
- Help reviewing your situation and available options
- Refund checks
- Enrollment and Records
- Add/Drop period for Spring 2025
- Submitting a Leave of Absence Form
- Student Records
- Accessing Academic Advising
Mental Health Resources & Support
Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) is available for crisis counseling and support, as well as promoting mental health resources.
- Walk-In Services: Available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at CAPS main office.
- Support Groups and Workshops: CAPS is hosting additional sessions on understanding and coping with trauma.

- 211 LA is partnering with Airbnb to offer free temporary shelter for people displaced from their homes by fire.
- Visit LA Metro website for updates on fares, service and schedule impacts.
- Rideshare service Lyft is offering vouchers to help people get to and from shelters.
- Rideshare service Uber is offering up to $40 to help people get to designated shelters. Use “WILDFIRE25” in the Wallet section of the Uber app.
- Apply for FEMA assistance via DisasterAssistance.gov.
- Resources for SoCal fire victims, evacuees and first responders (via LAist)
