John Lambert has dedicated his professional career to becoming a nationally acclaimed horseman and a prominent leader in the Arabian horse community. Since 2019, he has served as the Executive Director of the W.K. Kellogg Arabian Horse Center at Cal Poly Pomona, where his core principles are guided by Mr. Kellogg’s vision for breeding high quality purebred Arabian horses and promotion of the breed to the public. Through his intense studying and mindful breeding decisions, John has elevated the Cal Poly Pomona breeding program ensuring Mr. Kellogg’s vision is carried on into perpetuity.
A graduate of Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science, John founded and operated Lambert Arabian LLC for 18 years in his home state of Michigan. With a commitment to continually improving his horsemanship skills, John has worked alongside industry leaders such as Shawn and Carmelle Rooker, Jim Lowe, Bob Battaglia, and Raymond LaCroix. His experience also includes a tenure at the world renowned Stachowski Farms.
John is a highly sought-after judge for Arabian and Half-Arabian show horses, officiating at the most illustrious events like the U.S. National Championships, the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show, and other coveted shows abroad.
John and his wife, Lynda, have been married since 1998 and share their passion for horses with their children, Tyler and Emerson. Emerson competes with her Arabian gelding while also exploring show jumping with her Thoroughbred. Their son Tyler, a former National Champion in Arabian horse competitions, now excels in cross-country mountain biking with the "Bear National" Olympic development team.
