Current Students
Students are urged to select electives to prepare for future career in industry or for graduate study. The Department recommends that each student use electives to develop depth in a discipline other than mathematics. To prepare for graduate study, courses at the 500-level are available as part of the Graduate Program.
Students majoring in mathematics and who have at least a 3.0 GPA may join the honorary society Kappa Mu Epsilon (KME) as well as the local chapter of the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM). Additional information can be obtained from the Department of Mathematics and Statistics.
To prepare to graduate, consult the Registrar's web page with information on Applying for Graduation. Note that the deadline to apply for graduation is typically early in the term in which a student expects to graduate.
