Markers, Milestones and Flexibility
A guide for students converting from quarters to semesters
Marker Course
A marker is a course (or a series of courses) that if taken, the student should not switch to the semester curriculum.
Milestone
A milestone could be a time of graduation or progress towards degree. For example, if a student plans to graduate by a certain semester, the student should remain on the quarter curriculum. Or if a student has completed a certain number of semester units or units within the student's major, the student should not switch to the semester curriculum.
Flexibility in Curriculum
The flexibility in curriculum is a list of potential substitutions for courses that moved from being core requirements under quarters to electives under semesters.
