PolyStrengths: Empowering Students for Success

First-time Freshmen have access to taking CliftonStrengths. Discover how to leverage your unique talents and strengths to excel academically, personally, and professionally through various on-campus opportunities.

What are PolyStrengths?

PolyStrengths utilizes the Gallup CliftonStrengths assessment tool designed to help individuals identify their top talents out of 34 possible themes. By understanding and applying your talents, you can enhance your performance, build better relationships, and achieve your goals.

For Fall 2024 first-time freshmen and Fall 2024 transfer students, please go to the Access Code Request Form (office.com).

If you already have taken the assessment, you can see your top 5 and more (gallup.com).

Explore your PolyStrengths at Orientation!

If you want a jump start on exploring your strengths, you can do this at Orientation in Pathway D. If the pathway is full for your selected Orientation date, we will have a similar workshop during the first few months of Fall semester.

The CliftonStrengths assessment typically takes about 30 to 45 minutes to complete. Make sure to set aside uninterrupted time to answer the questions thoughtfully.

After completing the assessment, you will receive a personalized report that identifies your top 5 strengths, along with detailed descriptions and insights on how to leverage these strengths in various aspects of your life.

Knowing your strengths can help you:
  • Enhance your academic performance by tailoring your study strategies to align with your strengths.
  • Improve your personal development by understanding your natural talents and how they influence your behaviors and decisions.
  • Advance your career by identifying job opportunities that match your strengths and by effectively communicating your strengths to potential employers.

Gallup recommends taking the CliftonStrengths assessment only once, as your top strengths are likely to remain consistent over time.

If you feel that your results don't accurately reflect your strengths, consider reviewing your results in-depth. The definition that Gallup uses may be different than what you believe it means. Also, the test measures what you are innately good at, and what those items are may surprise you. It takes time and reflection to see how your strengths manifest in different aspects of your life.
