PolyStrengths

Faculty & Staff

For Faculty Staff

Understanding and leveraging individual strengths is key to unlocking potential and achieving success. Below, you'll find information on how to discover and utilize your strengths, as well as resources for incorporating strengths-based practices into your department.

Why Strengths is Important

We believe in empowering our students to recognize and leverage their strengths as they navigate their academic journey and beyond. Faculty and staff can play a pivotal role in this process by encouraging students to:

  • Take the CliftonStrengths assessment.
  • Have purposeful conversations to help aim student's talents in the classroom, their involvements, and at jobs/internships.
  • Engage in strengths-based discussions and activities in the classroom.
  • Seek mentorship and guidance from faculty and staff who are familiar with strengths-based approaches.

By incorporating strengths-based practices into our interactions with students, we can help them cultivate self-awareness, confidence, and resilience.

Taking the Assessment as a Faculty/Staff Member

As a campus, we recognize the value of understanding and leveraging our collective strengths. We encourage all faculty and staff members to take the CliftonStrengths assessment and share their results with one another. This not only fosters a culture of openness and collaboration but also enables us to capitalize on the diverse talents within our team.

Please talk to your area lead to discuss taking the assessment. Trainings may be available:

It is important to know that taking the assessment is just the first step in the journey for CliftonStrengths. We encourage continued conversations in team meetings, one-on-ones, and embedding this into your daily work with students. For more information, you can also contact us through the about and FAQ page.

Let's embark on this journey of strengths discovery together, enriching our personal and professional lives while enhancing the overall success of your department and the students we serve.

I have a class of all newly admitted Fall 2024 students, can I get a report of everyone's top 5 strengths?

To request a report, please send the email addresses of your students and contact us on the information listed in our about and FAQ page.
