The Live Scan Office will be closed August 22nd, 2024 – September 5th, 2024 due to the start of the Fall Semester. 

 
Live Scan Information
Cal Poly Pomona University Police Department provides Live Scan fingerprinting services only for on-campus entities at the moment. 
 
Live Scan technology allows digitally scanned fingerprints and related information to be submitted electronically to the Department of Justice within a matter of minutes. Please allow at least 30 minutes for processing.

For General public and off-campus groups, please visit the CA DOJ LIVE SCAN SEARCH to look for a Live Scan provider nearby. 

Live Scan Services are open Mon - Fri from 9 am to 4 pm by appointment only.

The Police Department and Parking Service building can be found at the corner of Oak Lane and Cypress Lane. 15 minute parking stalls are available at the front of the building.

Essentials For Your Live Scan Appointment

Identification

All Live Scan participants must be able to provide one of the following forms of identification:


  • California (or any other state's) driver's license
  • Passport
Please note that copies or temporary licenses are not accepted.

Prior to your appointment, you must completely fill out a Live Scan Service Form (BCII 8016 Form) available here. (PDF)

Please note that Live Scan forms are unavailable in our office. Also, we cannot complete your Live Scan without your employer's Originating Agency Identification (ORI) number and information.

Forms of Payment

Live Scan accepts the following forms of card payments ONLY:

  • Visa or Mastercard

Fees
The California Department of Justice (DOJ) and/or Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) charges an applicant criminal history clearance fee for background checks. Applicants are typically required to pay unless a billing account number is provided by their agency. Fees are subject to change without notice. Rejection Notice

If you had your Live Scan done with our agency, contact us so that we can re-take your fingerprints. Bring the rejection notice and the new, completed Live Scan Request Form. THERE WILL BE NO ADDITIONAL FEE FOR THIS RE-SUBMISSION.
