Morocco: Crossroads and Meeting GroundAbout the Exhibition
Follow in the footsteps of fourteen members of the Cal Poly Pomona community who, in the summer of 2017, experienced Morocco through intensive study at Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane and immersive site visits to Rabat, Fez, Meknes, Tangier, Marrakech, Essaouira, Casablanca, and the cities and villages of the Middle Atlas. Photographs, sound installations, and objects stitch together layers of the country's rich history, art, and culture. Travel was made possible through a Fulbright-Hays Grant sponsored by the Department of Education.
This exhibition developed from this Fulbright-Hays Group Project Abroad Grant with the program title East Meets West: Morocco - Crossroads and Meeting Ground. The exhibition is supported by the Colleges of Education and Integrative Studies (CEIS); Letters, Arts and Social Sciences (CLASS); and Environmental Design (ENV), as well as by the Extended University; History Department; Kellogg Honors College; Kellogg University Art Gallery; and Don B. Huntley Gallery of Cal Poly Pomona.
