Gallery Exhibition | "Bia Gayotto: Prequel to 2018"

About the Exhibition

Brazilian-born, Los Angeles-based artist Bia Gayotto uses an interdisciplinary approach that combines video, collaboration, fieldwork, and interviews to examine how ideas of identity and culture intersect in places, objects, and everyday lives. Her works “Somewhere In Between: Taipei” and “Somewhere In Between: Silicon Valley” include two-screen video installations and accompanying art books and site-specific installation. Each looks at the physical and cultural landscapes of Silicon Valley and Taipei (aka "the Silicon Valley of the East") inquiring about feelings of place, identity, and belonging.
