Don B. Huntley‘s passions include a collection of western art that he is sharing with the university. Over the years, he has donated a number of oil on canvas paintings that depict wildlife, landscapes, and buckaroo art to Cal Poly Pomona. Those pieces, plus some additional paintings and antique items included in his estate, constitute the Huntley Western Art Collection. Well‐known artists in the collection include Bill Anton, Bonnie Marris, Curt Walters, and Ralph Oberg. The western art collection is the first of its kind at any CSU campus. It marries the rural agricultural roots of the university and reflects that history through this art collection. This exhibition’s selections were wade primarily by Don B. Huntley himself and represent his collection “through the eyes of the collector.”
