Community Partnership Meetings

Date: June 5, 2018

Information: President Soraya M. Coley stressed the importance of strengthening community ties and building community partnerships as Cal Poly Pomona’s next Campus Master Plan takes shape. Consulting firm Ayers Saint Gross invited elected local, state and federal representatives, county officials, and local and regional transit agencies to this kick-off session.

Date: October 29, 2018

Information: Campus Master Plan consulting firm Ayers Saint Gross gave a presentation to the Pomona City Council about the objectives of the Master Plan process, which included an examination of potential impact to the city. Topics included an analysis of input from campus stakeholders, construction projects at Cal Poly Pomona, campus parking, vehicular gateways from the university through Pomona, and campus transit and regional bus routes.

Date: December 18, 2018

Information: Campus Master Plan consulting firm Ayers Saint Gross presented to the California Department of Transportation (Cal Trans) an overview of the Master Plan, which seeks to improve safety by directing non-campus traffic around the campus through use of East and South Campus Drives. Topics also included discussion about the Interstate 10 (I-10) Freeway Kellogg Drive exit ramp with East Campus Drive and the California Highway Patrol Baldwin area office project.

Date: March 21, 2019

Information: Foothill Transit officials and staff members of state legislators received an update from Campus Master Plan consulting firm Ayers Saint Gross on the current phase of the Master Plan process. The scope of the presentation focused on a study of mobility areas in and around campus, entry points to the campus, parking, pedestrian and bike paths, options for a transit hub near campus, and the impact of the impending closures of the Kellogg Drive freeway ramps. Other issues ranged from meeting the academic needs of the campus to the future of the CLA Tower.
