I will forever and always cherish my two years being a part of the Early Childhood Studies program at Cal Poly Pomona. As a transfer student, I never thought I would have been so involved in and out of the program as I was. During my first year, I became a research assistant to one of the best professors I've ever had, and to this day, I still reach out for her guidance and support.
In that same year, I became the Early Childhood Studies Club President, where I created a strong foundation and structure for future Presidents and their club members. I was able to build so many wonderful connections with the faculty, staff, and the students as I worked part time in the ECS front office as a student assistant.
During my last semester I became one of the Co-founders of a website called CPP KARES, which is a website built to provide Southern California parents/caregivers of children aged 0-12 with access to educational activities and resources that can assist with educating children at home during the pandemic. The skills and knowledge I gained from the program allowed me to create and monitor developmentally appropriate activities and lesson plans for specific age groups and grade levels to include on the CPP KARES website.
Thank you to all of the amazing Early Childhood Studies professors!
