I CAN HELP
Universal Program to Support Early Detection, Mental Health Literacy, and Suicide Prevention
I CAN HELP is a university-specific training, developed by Dr. Brian Mistler, that prepares campus community members with knowledge of available health and wellbeing resources and helps all campus stakeholders develop the skills required to handle both the one-time and ongoing concerns across the domains of health and basic needs.
This program:
- gives faculty/staff/students the confidence to keep up with changing student needs;
- teaches how to recognize distress, as well as those who do/do not need referrals; and
- aligns with high impact practices to improve student success, including retention.
Training is available for the following dates listed below. Registration for the training is done through My Health Portal. For more information regarding the I CAN HELP training please contact Dr. Kell Fujimoto at caps@cpp.edu or visit Dr. Brian Mistler's website.
