Jon Merchant Appointed Executive Director of University Housing Services

Jon Merchant has been appointed as Executive Director of University Housing Services (UHS), effective April 8. He joins Cal Poly Pomona from CSUSB, where he served as Director for Housing and Residential Education.

Throughout his career, Jon has served in roles including Residence Hall Director, Director of Student Activities, and Assistant Director of Residence Life. He is active in the Association of College and University Housing Officers-International (ACUHO-I) serving as a STARS College faculty member (2014-2016) and as the program Chair-Elect and Chair (2016-2020).

Jon earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism-Public Relations from the University of St. Thomas (St. Paul, MN)  He also received a Master of Education degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration (HESA) from the University of Vermont.
