Oscar Ledezma Vasquez
Hi, my name is Oscar Omar Ledezma Vazquez, I am currently a Controls Engineer at The Walt Disney Company. In my current role, it is my responsibility to design and engineer the computer, electronic or electrical equipment that controls and monitors devices which permit physical equipment movement with visual indications. In other words, control the movement of vehicles and ride equipment.
I attended Cal Poly Pomona from 2007 to 2012 and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physics. Throughout my time at Cal Poly Pomona I got involved with the Society of Physics Students (SPS), Society of Women in Engineering (SWE), Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE), Science Educational Enhancement Services (SEES) Maximizing Engineering Potential (MEP) and Triangle Fraternity. I got to build a Cassegrain telescope, a Geiger counter and got the opportunity to do research with Dr. Ertan Salik in his Optics Lab. Everything I learned from the department and from my time at cal poly where critical to my graduate school success. In 2013, I attended Cal State LA and started to work on my Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. While studying, I reestablished The Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES), I volunteered with Great Minds in STEM as a college captain and performed Biomedical Research. Cal Poly Pomona and the Physics department provided the tools, support and experience to help me be successful.
