RAMP Grant
RAMP provides grant aid to supplement the Pell grant to a limited number of qualifying students who apply. For the 2024-25 academic year, the RAMP Grant is $767 and 28 students will be selected.
To be eligible, you must meet the following requirements prior to applying for the grant:
- Be a RAMP participant
- Be a freshman or sophomore (based on the # of units earned at the beginning of fall term)
- Receiving a Pell Grant
- Have an unmet financial need of at least $767
- Be in good academic standing & have no INC/W/WU in any fall courses
- Enrolled full-time (at least 12 units per semester)
Eligible participants must complete the following requirements and write an essay before the application deadline. These requirements afford students opportunities to familiarize themselves with the campus community while enhancing their academic, professional, cultural, and/or personal growth.
- Attend at least 10 reading tutorials (weeks 3-15 fall; 3-6 spring)
- Attend fall Professional Spotlight (10/24/24)
- Attend at least 1 group peer mentoring session (weeks 9-12 in fall)
- Attend at least 1 First-Gen Crew meeting (4 offered fall), or Unwritten Rules workshop (1 offered fall), or First-Generation College Student Panel (2 offered spring)
- Attend at least 1 financial literacy, financial aid, or academic success workshop (several offered each term)
- Attend 2 advising meetings with your program advisor (1 each term)

RAMP has been awarding grant aid since 2001. In the 2010–11 academic year, the grant aid was converted to a competitive scholarship format. RAMP is excited to continue offering such a valuable opportunity to students.
