Graduating PolyTransfer Mentor Edna Lomeli spoke about her journey as a transfer student and experience at Cal Poly Pomona.

Jezzabella Jimenez

Associate Provost Terri Gomez and transfer student Jezzabella Jimenez spoke about Cal Poly Pomona's transfer population and returning to campus. 

The PolyTransfer program helped Jimenez, a communications major who transferred in fall 2021, transition to her new university despite the remote environment by introducing her to her mentors.

For Amy Murillo, a fall 2020 transfer student from Citrus College, the words, “you can’t do it,” only fueled her determination to get to Cal Poly Pomona.

Joining nearly 4,200 transfer students starting their first semester on campus at Cal Poly Pomona, Murillo studies sociology with an emphasis in criminology.

Christopher Ornelas

Cal Poly Pomona architecture student Christopher Ornelas received a 2020 CSU Trustees’ Award for Outstanding Achievement, the CSU’s highest recognition of student success. He earned two associate degrees with honors for architecture and mathematics from Ventura and Oxnard College.

 

Aneika Solomon Garcia

Garcia, a business administration senior who is part of the newly formed Urban and Community Agriculture minor, served 10 years in the Air Force after high school. She continued her education at community colleges, transferring to Cal Poly Pomona from Norco Community College in spring 2018.
