What We Offer

The OUR-CPP will recruit and identify faculty mentors with each faculty mentor overseeing two or three student researchers. Students are grouped by major and research interests. Those groups work together over the duration of the project with a faculty mentor orienting students in lab safety, training, writing, and creating professional research posters. OUR-CPP staff coordinates the summer research activities including the annual summer symposium, summer research, cohort building activities, workshops for professional development, and weekly check-ins to make sure students are actively engaged and to resolve any issues.

Program Costs

The SURE works with community colleges that have funding for their students. The cost for the community college per student is as follows:

• Student stipend (can vary per institution)
• Up to $500 research supplies funding per student

The cost does not include housing or food.
