"Planning for History with Dee Williams"
February 15, 2013
About the Event
Join participating artist, Dee Williams for a discussion on the conceptualization of history in urban planning, and its capitalist consequences. William's photographs for this exhibition read advertising within the Los Angeles urbanscape from a post-structuralist perspective. Focusing on a series of signs that display promises for consumption, her photographs reveal economies served by expansion and commemoration. A number of other artists' and writers' works will be presented that were influential to this project.
