Campus Wi-Fi for your devices

Cal Poly Pomona uses eduroam to connect devices to the internet over Wi-Fi, and we encourage you to set up your devices before arriving on campus.

How to setup eduroam

  1. Visit the Wireless Internet Access page on each of your devices.
  2. Click the "Wizard Setup" button and proceed through the configuration steps.
  3. When you complete the setup, you will receive a "Configuration succeeded" message. The next time you come to campus, you will automatically connect to the eduroam Wi-Fi network.

Microsoft Copilot for CPP

Copilot is available to everyone at Cal Poly Pomona. Copilot uses generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) to provide assistance and boost your creativity, whether summarizing documents, or seeking a quick answer. Watch Streamlining Your Work With Copilot on LinkedIn Learning for an overview.

Information entered into Copilot is restricted to CPP and not shared with the public.

Below are the quick steps to get started with Copilot:

  1. Select the Copilot version you want to use:
  2. Sign-in to Microsoft Copilot using your CPP credentials just as you would any Microsoft Office 365 application.

Security and Privacy Considerations

GenAI or similar tools may infringe on the privacy and protection of sensitive information, copyrighted or trademarked content, trade secrets, or other licensed content. Once sensitive data has been entered into the training model, in many instances, the model cannot unlearn it and exposes that data.

Cal Poly Pomona is committed to providing a safe and secure environment, which includes the responsible use of GenAI. GenAI or similar tools must not be used in any way that would violate existing CSU or university standards or policies, laws, or applicable regulations.

CSU or CPP sensitive data cannot be used in GenAI or similar tools unless a university contract is in place and the tool is accessed using your Bronco Credentials. Use of Microsoft 365 undergoes regular security reviews by Cal Poly Pomona and the CSU Chancellor's Office.

GenAI or similar tools can be used for publicly available CPP or CSU information, defined as Level 3 information. GenAI or similar tools should not be used to generate output that would be considered non-public.

Report any cybersecurity or privacy concerns to the Chief Information Security Officer (ciso@cpp.edu). View current CPP policies and guidelines.

Campus Phishing Attempts Are on The Rise

The Cal Poly Pomona community is currently experiencing targeted phishing emails and text messages. These fraudulent emails and text messages intend to gain access to your campus account and personal information.

Think Before You Click: Never provide yourBroncoID, BroncoPassword, or authorize any Duo Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) to another person or unknown request. Only you should have access to your account. Important: CPP staff and faculty will never ask you for your Bronco credentials, an MFA authorization, or to submit a form with this information.

If you feel at risk, change your BroncoPassword immediately by using the "Change/Reset Your Password" link at the bottom of the CPP home page.
