MyCPP is a Smart Cities North America Awards Finalist
MyCPP's recently redesigned and personalized student portal has earned a spot among the finalists for the IDC Government Insights' 7th Annual Smart Cities North America Awards in the Education category. IDC invites CPP and the public to vote for your favorite projects in each category, and submissions are open through March 8, 2:00 p.m. PT.
Artificial Intelligence Fair
The Artificial Intelligence Fair will be held on April 17, 2024, at the Bronco Student Center in Ursa Major. Join us in exploring artificial intelligence (AI) from today's task-specific devices, services, and systems to purely theoretical possibilities. The fair will feature a keynote session, panel discussion, hands-on presentations from industry experts, student clubs, and career networking opportunities.
Higher Education is a Frequent Target of Phishing and Scams
Phishing emails, text messages, and other communications are evolving as fraudsters attempt to compromise your BroncoAccount, steal personal information, and phish additional victims with your account.
Note: CPP staff, faculty, students, and affiliated vendors will never send unsolicited messages asking you to provide your Bronco credentials (name and password), MFA authorization, or submit a form requesting this information.
How to Protect Yourself
- Never provide your BroncoID, BroncoPassword to anyone.
- Never authorize a DUO Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) from another person or a non-CPP affiliated webpage.
- Be suspicious of any unsolicited communication requesting personal information or immediate action, even when it arrives from a cpp.edu email address.
- Verify the source using Bronco411.
- Don't click or follow any links.
- Don’t paste URLs into your browser.
- Don't submit forms requesting personal or sensitive information from an unverified source.
- Always use a unique password for each of your online accounts.
- Don’t use your cpp.edu email address for non-Cal Poly Pomona services.
Responding to a phishing attempt makes you and our community more likely to be targeted in the future, including any personal contact information you provide.
Exercise diligence in reviewing and responding to emails and text messages. Additional tips for spotting email phishing and scams are provided at our eHelp Phishing and Scams Article and Information Security page.
When you receive a suspicious email, text message, or other communication, forward it to suspectemail@cpp.edu and contact the IT Service Desk at https://www.cpp.edu/ehelp.
If your Account is Compromised (or Suspect it is Compromised)
If you provided your BroncoAccount credentials or authorized an MFA request:
- Reset your BroncoPassword immediately.
- Contact the IT Service Desk.
If you Suspect Identity Theft
Identity theft is when someone uses your personal or financial information without permission:
- What to know about identity theft? (Federal Trade Commission)
- Report Identity Theft (Federal Trade Commission)
