About Me

Dr. Yufan (Frank) Lin is an Assistant Professor of Marketing in the College of Business Administration at California State Polytechnic University – Pomona. He holds a Ph.D. in Marketing and an MBA with a focus on marketing analytics from the University of Missouri. His research primarily explores personal selling through technology-mediated platforms, including live-chat sales closing and technology service sales cold calling strategies. Dr. Lin's work employs both structured (econometrics) and unstructured (natural language processing, Generative AI) data analytics techniques.

 

His research has been showcased at numerous conferences, including the Marketing Science Conference, the VII Enhancing Sales Force Productivity Conference, the Thought Leadership on Sales Profession Conference, the Frontiers in Service Conference, the Organizational Frontlines Research Pre-conference Symposium, and the National Conference on Sales Management. Dr. Lin's work has garnered several accolades, such as the 2021 American Marketing Association Sales SIG Doctoral Dissertation Proposal Competition award and the 2022 National Conference in Sales Management Hunt/Deitz/Hansen Best Doctoral Paper Award. 


Dr. Lin has taught marketing research, marketing analytics, consumer behavior, and marketing problems to undergraduate students and marketing management application and AI technologies in Business for master students. His professional experience includes roles as a Marketing Analytics Manager at Sears Holdings Corporation in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, and a Fraud Analytics MBA Intern at MasterCard Worldwide in O'Fallon, Missouri. In his leisure time, Dr. Lin enjoys mountain biking, singing, and meditation.
