Change in Status
An employee who is initially hired through a long-term temporary recruitment process may have their temporary appointment converted to a probationary status during the course of their long-term temporary appointment duration.
An employee who have served in a Bargaining Unit Classification or classification series for at least four (4) consecutive years immediately prior to the granting of permanency.
Employee must service in an appointment with a timebase of at least 0.5. Timebase shall not be reduced in the appointment immediately preceding the granting of permanency.
Only employees hired through a long term temporary recruitments are eligible to have their appointments converted to probationary.
The employee may serve a new probationary period based on their Collective Bargaining Unit. Department may request service credit toward completion of the probationary period which is in the same classification or skill level and the employee's performance in classification or skill levels has been satisfactory.
The appropriate administrator (HEERA Manager) must complete the Smartsheet along with the justification memo and updated Job description if applicable.
