Retirement
As part of the CSU system, employees can participate in the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS), a defined benefit plan based on years of service, age, and highest average salary. In addition to pension benefits, eligible retirees can access various health benefits, including medical, dental, and vision plans. CSU also offers a voluntary savings plan through Fidelity 403(b) and Savings Plus 401(k) or 457, allowing employees to contribute additional funds to their retirement savings with potential tax advantages.
Many campuses also provide retirement planning resources, workshops, and individual counseling to help employees make the most of their retirement options and ensure a smooth transition. Stay tuned by attending a Retirement Series, hosted by Benefits Team featuring sessions by CalPERS, Social Security, and more. Announcements for this series is sent via campus communication, so keep an eye out
