Student Clubs and Activities
IEEE - The Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) is the world's largest technical society serving more than 312,000 electrical engineers, scientists and other professionals in approximately 150 countries. Membership fees for students are only $35 per year. Weekly meetings of the Cal Poly Pomona student chapther are held in Room 9-423 with guest speakers from such leading companies as Intel, Hewlett-Packard, Boeing, Anderson Consulting and so on. All students are welcome to attend these meetings.
ISA - The International Society Automation (ISA) has over 46,000 members worldwide. Membership fees for students are only $10 per year. Weekly meetings are held with guest speakers from leading companies such as Northrup Grumman, Rockwell, Western Digital and so on. All students are welcome to attend these meetings.
SWE - The Society of Women Engineers is an organization dedicated to helping all engineering students by providing career-finding opportunities through conventions and other interaction with industry. Our exciting technical workshops, competitions and other projects expose students to hands-on engineering experience outside of their classes.
HKN - Eta Kappa Nu is a unique membership organization dedicated to encouraging and recognizing excellence in the electrical and computer engineering field. Members consist of students, alumni, and other professionals who have demonstrated exceptional academic and professional accomplishments.
The Power & Energy Society (PES) provides the world's largest forum for sharing the latest in technological developments in the electric power industry, for developing standards that guide the development and construction of equipment and systems, and for educating members of the industry and the general public. Members of the Power & Energy Society are leaders in this field, and they and their employers derive substantial benefits from involvement with this unique and outstanding association. The Cal Poly Pomona student branch holds bi-weekly meetings throughout the quarter with cooperation from San Diego Gas and Electric, Southern California Edison, SKM, ETAP, and more. All students interested in power engineering and power electronics are encouraged to attend.
CPPARC The Cal Poly Pomona Amateur Radio Club is a club open to everyone interested in amateur radio.
