Eligibility for Open University
Open University allows non-admitted individuals to enroll in undergraduate and graduate-level courses at CPGE. Registration is provided on a space-available basis and does not constitute admission to Cal Poly Pomona.
The College of Professional and Global Education is authorized to enroll international visa holders who are able to establish that they are maintaining their non-immigrant status with their sponsoring organizations. The College of Professional and Global Education does not issue form I-20 or form DS-2019 and Open University students are not considered to be full-time matriculated students for immigration purposes.
Undergraduates may transfer a maximum of 24-semester units of Open University credit towards a degree. Graduates may transfer a maximum of 9-semester units towards a degree.
Students that have been disqualified from CPP may take classes through the Open University to raise their GPA to the minimum requirement. Individuals with a registration hold on their account are accepted on a case by case basis. Contact the CPGE Registration Department at ceureg@cpp.edu to further inquire.
Registration
Open University students are only given BroncoDirect access on a term by term basis. For example, if you activate an account for Fall term, you will only have access to BroncoDirect for Fall term. Activating an account each term classes are taken gives you access to BroncoDirect each quarter.

If you are a disqualified or former student at CPP, make an appointment with your academic advisor to verify that your class meets degree requirements. If you’re a visiting Open University student, you may use the Course Catalog to verify course descriptions.
Courses in which you have registered will be visible in the Student Center section of your BroncoDirect account.

Financial aid is not accepted for courses taken through Open University

Official transcripts can be purchased online through the National Student Clearinghouse at https://www.cpp.edu/registrar/transcripts/index.shtml. Unofficial transcripts can be accessed through BroncoDirect if you still have access. If you don’t have an active account, you’ll need to request Official Transcripts from the National Student Clearinghouse.
