The McGoldrick Service Learning Award
- Applications are now being accepted through February 28 for an exciting new “learn by doing” internship award for CLASS students.
- The new McGoldrick Service Learning Award is presented by the CLASS Dean’s Office, thanks to the generosity of CPP Professor Emeritus of Sociology and Criminology Stacy McGoldrick.
- Two awardees will be selected, receiving the opportunity to serve at a non-profit of their choice and earn $25/hour – for up to 70 hours of service completed in one semester.
- Embodying CPP’s “learn by doing” mission, this award can support and enhance service learning aspects of any number of courses in CLASS majors.
- Important requirements:
- Minimum 3.3 GPA.
- Fill out the online application linked below, which includes a 500-word essay stating your chosen non-profit, why you want to do an internship with it, how you hope to help the non-profit, and what you expect to learn from the experience.
- Awardees must identify a faculty advisor who can verify service time and performance with the non-profit and coordinate with the awardee’s major department.
- Awardees are encouraged to contact the Office of Financial Aid prior to accepting the award to determine any impacts on their financial aid packages.
