Public Relations Student Society of America

The Public Relations Student Society of America is the foremost organization for students interested in public relations. It was founded in 1967 by its parent organization, the Public Relations Society of America, which seeks to advance the profession and the future of the profession by advocating good work ethic, academic standards, diversity, and preparing members for their careers.

Society of Professional Journalists

The Society of Professional Journalists is the nation’s most broad-based journalism organization, dedicated to encouraging the free practice of journalism and stimulating high standards of ethical behavior. Founded in 1909 as Sigma Delta Chi, SPJ promotes the free flow of information vital to a well-informed citizenry, works to inspire and educate current and future journalists through professional development, and protects First Amendment guarantees of freedom of speech and press through its advocacy efforts.

Cal Poly Pomona's Society of Professional Journalists chapter provides networking and professional development opportunities for students interested in journalism and First Amendment issues through guest speakers, journalism workshops, and newsroom tours. Lambda Pi Eta Cal Poly Pomona

Lambda Pi Eta

An accredited member of the Association of College Honor Societies, Lambda Pi Eta is the National Communication Association's official honor society at four-year colleges and universities that recognizes outstanding scholars in communication. LPH represents what Aristotle described in The Rhetoric as three ingredients of persuasion: logos (Lambda), meaning logic; pathos (Pi), relating to emotion; and ethos (Eta), defined as character credibility and ethics. 

Cal Poly Pomona's Lambda Pi Eta chapter organizes a variety of philanthropic, academic, and social programs, and membership signifies distinguished achievement in the Communication discipline.
