Center for the Advancement of Faculty Excellence (CAFE)

CAFE Winter Institute

The goal of CAFE Winter Institute 2024 is to invite faculty to consider together what it means and how to offer a course that goes beyond using generally effective strategies to being anti-racist.

CAFE previously offered "Doing the Work” in Summer 2022 and Winter 2023. Whether you participated previously or not, you will gain valuable knowledge from the Winter Institute, as we hope to build on our past sessions as well as introduce new topics. Faculty of any discipline are welcomed and encouraged to participate. We have capacity for a maximum of 30 faculty participants.

Participants may continue in a learning community in Spring 2024.

We are grateful to Dr. Michelle DeJohnette (Early Childhood Studies), who is contributing substantially to the program’s outcomes, content, and activities.

For example, if you attend one day and submit all deliverables, that is $150. If you attend all four days but do not submit deliverables, we will not be able to pay the stipends. If you attend all four days and submit deliverables, you will receive $600.
