FAQ

Yes, we participate in DICAS as well as D&D Matching.

Please note that you do NOT need to send anything other than the Release Form, Recency of Education (if applicable) and check to Cal Poly  Pomona.  We will use the information from DICAS for the rest of the packet.

Yes. Even though many schools do include information from previous schools on their transcripts, you need to include all transcripts.

No. Not all courses need to be listed or converted to semester units. But be sure if you have been to both quarter and semester schools, that you choose only one format.

Applicants selected will be called in early March, and will be given an interview time. Because of the large number of applicants, we interview for our 15 positions, we conduct interviews two days only, in mid- to late-March. We realize that it may be during school or finals, but, hopefully, your instructors or employer understand the importance of the interview.

No, interns are assigned to all rotations by the DI director and receive a schedule at the beginning of the internship. Only interns who choose a free week rotation need to find a preceptor for that rotation.

Interns do not choose their hospital placement. Intern placement is determined by the selection committee. We make every effort to place you close to your home. With the geographic range of the hospitals, this is often difficult. Interns are sometimes asked to commute to their hospitals or to their outside rotations (Public Health, Head Start, Community College, etc.) You may be expected to drive 60 miles, one way for this period of time. While this may be difficult short term, we hope you appreciate the training needed to become an Registered Dietitian/Registered Dietitian Nutritionist.

No.

Not as part of the initial application process, however if you are matched to our internship you will have to apply to the university. All interns accepted into the program must apply to the post-baccalaureate credential program through our regular, university admissions process. This ensures that you are enrolled in the credential program and allows for you to apply for financial aid if needed. You will be given information about this if you are matched to our internship.
