About the Scholarship for Service Program
CyberCorps SFS program funds universities to train students in the domain of cyber security to protect our critical information infrastructure. Scholars of the program receive an annual stipend ($20,000) in addition to the tuition scholarship, health insurance reimbursement, book allowance and allowance for professional development activities such as certifications.
The scholars may receive the scholarship up to two years before their graduation. During the scholarship period, the scholars have an obligation to participate in CPP-SFS program activities, complete a summer internship each year and fulfil a government service obligation for a period equivalent to the length of their scholarship.
The program is jointly administered and supported by the National Science Foundation, Department of Homeland Security and Office of Personnel Management.
