Ernest Prete Jr. Fellowship Program

Prete Fellows Benefits

CPP students selected to become Prete Fellows will be awarded a stipend in the amount of $5,000* for one year.  The stipend is paid out in five installments, one at the end of the fall semester and four in the spring semester.  The stipend includes attending workshops provided at CPP, Mentor meetings and at least 10 hours a week to the program, including at least 6 hours a week at Kellogg Elementary working with students.

This is a safe, carefully guided experience in the art and science of teaching that provides Prete Fellows with a foundation for academic and career choices. Throughout their experience, Prete Fellows will learn about and practice teaching skills including but not limited to initiating dialogue, socratic questioning, managing cooperative learning, learning cycles of inquiry, and accommodating diverse student needs.

*Fellowship stipends will be coordinated with other financial aid resources the student might be receiving, to learn more about how the stipend is coordinated with other forms of financial aid, students should visit https://www.cpp.edu/financial-aid/resources/financial-aid-policies.shtml.
