Subject: Update on CSU Vaccination Requirement and Deadlines for Staff and Faculty
Dear Colleagues,
The CSU’s COVID-19 Vaccination Interim Policy requires that all employees and students accessing campus facilities or programs must be vaccinated for COVID-19 or request an exemption by Sept. 30. To further clarify the effective dates and expectations for compliance, we are sharing an update on the meet and confer process for some represented employees, as well as the on-going outreach to non-represented employees.
CSUEU, UAPD, CFA, & UAW Represented Employees
The meet and confer process has been completed for represented employees in CSUEU, UAPD, CFA, and UAW. Employees in these represented units are required to verify their COVID-19 vaccination status by Oct. 27, 2021, and must take action as follows:
- Employees should upload their COVID-19 vaccination record as soon as possible but no later than Oct. 27, if they are fully vaccinated. Visit the Vaccine Upload webpage for instructions. To schedule a vaccination appointment or find a walk-in location, visit My Turn.
- If applicable, request an exemption due to medical or religious reasons as soon as possible but no later than Oct. 27.
- On the Vaccine Info webpage, the option to self-attest that you will not access campus facilities or programs DOES NOT apply to employees. Employees are not permitted to attest to not accessing campus facilities, and this includes employees who have a Temporary Remote Work Agreement (TRWA).
- Employees who have a medical or religious exemption will be required to participate in weekly public health testing at the CPP COVID-19 testing facility located at the CLA Paseo. This applies to employees who are working in-person and hybrid schedules.
- For questions regarding the Interim Vaccination Policy, faculty and UAW employees should contact Faculty Affairs, George Tejadilla at gtejadilla@cpp.edu. All other state-side employees should contact Employee/Labor Relations at elr@cpp.edu.
Non-Represented Employees
Non-represented employees are required to verify their COVID-19 vaccination status or request an exemption by Sept. 30 or will not be allowed to access campus programs and activities, including their assigned workspace.
For non-represented employees who have not uploaded their vaccination record or requested an exemption, the Employee/Labor Relations team has been conducting outreach to those individuals via phone and email to ensure they have the necessary information to complete a required action.
Cal Poly Pomona will pursue corrective action measures up to and including termination from employment for non-represented employees who have not taken steps to comply with the COVID-19 Vaccination Interim Policy.
We are encouraged that more than 80 percent of faculty and staff have already uploaded their vaccination record or requested an exemption. The vaccines are safe, effective and the key to keeping our campus community safe. We continue to encourage everyone to get vaccinated for COVID-19 to protect their own health and that of our community.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to be Safely Together.
