Post Enrollment Requirement Checking (PERC)
CPP students may register or waitlist for a class in the upcoming term while the prerequisite class is still “In Progress”. For example, fall semester registration starts in April, but spring semester grades are assigned more than a month later. The system allows the students to register for the requisite class while the prerequisite class is still in progress.
How PERC works:
- At the end of each term, PERC will run.
- If the student passes the course, the PERC roster will show the requisite course status as “satisfied”.
- If the student withdraws or fails the course, the PERC roster will show the requisite course status as “not satisfied”.
- Departments will review the PERC rosters to determine whether the students should be dropped or approved.
PERC Process Schedule:
- Fall
- Run several times during the summer: in early August after transfer credits are processed for the transfer students, after summer final grades are posted, and during the fall add/drop period.
- Spring
- Run after fall final grades are posted and during the Spring add/drop period.
- Summer Session and Winter Intersession
- Run after spring final grades are posted.
Review Process:
- All sections of the courses in all careers are reviewed to capture students that:
- dropped the prerequisite class that enabled them to enroll in the requisite class; and
- received an unsatisfactory grade in the perquisite class.
- Departments may designate the department coordinators to review the PERC rosters and approve or drop students from the class(es) if the enrollment requirements have not been satisfied.
- Enrolled and waitlisted courses are evaluated.
- All related components of a course including lab, activity, etc. are dropped if the prerequisite is not satisfied.
For any questions related to PERC drop, contact your department chair or advisor.
