During priority registration, the unit limit is as follows:

You are assigned registration window based on your class standing, based on units earned at the time of registration window assignment. Having a few more units than one person can mean possibly having an earlier registration time. Students are considered Freshmen when having 0-29 units, Sophomores when having 30-59 units, Juniors when having 60-89 units, and Seniors when having 90+ units. Please note: the registration days are spread out to ease the load on advising and reduce traffic and system errors in BroncoDirect.

Class standing is determined by your total earned units. Check your unofficial transcript to find how many total units you have earned (including CPP and Transfer Credits), then compare with the following: Freshmen: 0-29, Sophomores: 30-59, Juniors: 60-89, and Seniors: 90+.

In the case that Add/Drop ends and you still want to add another class, you may request for a Late Add. Note that late add is not guaranteed. Justifications for the late add and approvals are required from the instructor and the Associate Dean. However, being added into the class is at the professor's discretion. Contact the Registrar's Office at registrar@cpp.edu for specific instructions on how to complete a Late Add Request.

A permission number may be used to either enroll in a class or be placed on the waitlist, depending on the situation. Permission numbers are given by either the department of the class you are trying to enroll in, or the instructor teaching the class. Go to the department when an error comes up stating you did not complete the requisite (prequisite or co-requisite). Go to the instructor if you need permission or instructor consent to enroll, or if the class is full. It is at the he instructor's discreation to provide you with a permission number to override the seat capacity. You can add your permission number in BroncoDirect under your Student Center. Note: For instructions on how to add a permission number, please refer to the How to Use a Permission Number Guide.

You are only allowed to register for 16 units during General Registration, and 18 during Add/Drop. However, if you want to take more than 18, you will need to complete a Petition To Exceed Unit Cap which is under the Forms tab from the Registrar's Office page. The petition may only be submitted and processed during the Add/Drop period, and all approval signatures must be obtained. This includes your advisor, department chair, and deans signatures. Note: You may need to obtain a permission number if the class is full or requires instructor's consent.

If you want to enroll in two classes that may conflict or occur at the same time, you will need to complete a Schedule Conflict Override Petition. This can be found under Forms on the Registrar's Office website. The petition must be completed entirely to process the form. This includes both instructors' signatures, and the department chair of the major. Note: You may need to obtain a permission number if the class(es) are full or requires instructor's consent.

You may check your position on the waitlist by going to your Student Center in BroncoDirect. Find the list of your class schedule and locate the class that is waitlisted. The status of that class will say 'Waiting' and there will be a number under 'Waitlist Position'. This is what number you are on the waitlist. Note: For instructions on how to find your place on the waitlist, please refer to our guide.
