About the option

The Management and Human Resources (MHR) option prepares students to become successful professionals by employing discipline-based knowledge to develop our students’ skills in management, human resources and entrepreneurship. MHR students receive education and training in areas such as leadership development, ethics, managing diversity, employee hiring and retention, training development, employment law, and creating a business startup. Students must select one of the following areas of emphasis: Management and Leadership, Human Resources Management, or Entrepreneurship.

Overview

MHR students can get hands-on experience through a variety of organizations, including The Collegiate Entrepreneurs’ Organization (CEO) and the Cal Poly Pomona Professionals in Human Resources Association (CPP PIHRA), which was founded in 1994 and serves as a SHRM and PIHRA Student Chapter, which offers various opportunities for members to develop themselves as Human Resources professionals.
