Elizabeth Guevara Laxamana Advising Champion Award
Selection Process
The Advising Champion Award was established in memory of Elizabeth Guevara-Laxamana, an advisor who served as a model of compassion and advocacy for student success. This award is given to an individual who has championed the profession of academic advising through their contributions to the campus, CSU, and/or broader academic advising community.

Nominate an advisor via the online form.
Criteria for Award
The nomination packet should include evidence of the following:
- Commitment to professional development and growth (for example: presenting at on-campus events or at professional conferences, reviewing literature, participating in reading groups, and/or publishing articles, etc.).
- Commitment to the improvement of advising practice through continual analysis and solution-oriented feedback. This includes active participation in working groups, communities, and cross-divisional collaborations.
- Commitment the incorporating inclusion, equity, and diversity in all advising practice.
