In Memoriam: Ronald W. Eaves
Professor Emeritus Ronald Eaves, a former dean of the College of Business Administration, died on March 22. He was 86.
Eaves joined the faculty at Cal Poly Pomona in 1968 as an assistant professor and taught computer information systems courses. He was named dean of the college in 1986 and served in that role for 11 years.
During his tenure, CPP had international programs that enabled Eaves to travel to countries including Vietnam, Scotland, Singapore, Armenia, South Korea, China and Africa.
He moved to Cal State Bakersfield in 1997, on loan from CPP, to serve as the interim dean of the School of Business and Public Administration, retiring in 2000.
He is survived by his wife of almost 43 years, Betty L. Eaves; children Christopher Eaves (Corie), David Eaves (Bridgett), Erin Eaves (Keith); stepdaughters Terri Ares (Henry), Sherene Sedgwick (Nick) and Rebecca Barboza (Matt); sister Shirley Bachar; and 11 grandchildren, six great-granddaughters and two great-grandchildren on the way.
