CPP Ushers in New Flavors with Introduction of TaKorean On-Campus Dining Option

Craving something new, fresh and maybe even a little spicy on campus? TaKorean, CPP Dining Services’ newest unit, is serving up just what you’ve been looking for.
TaKorean is a unique Korean-inspired grill concept with a Latin American twist specializing in build-your-own bowls and tacos filled with fresh ingredients, punchy flavors and creative textures.
Starting out as a taco truck in Washington D.C. over a decade ago, TaKorean found much success on the East Coast, opening multiple locations in the D.C area. Now, the fusion concept has brought its delicious and healthy offerings to the West Coast for the first time inside CPP’s Campus Center Marketplace.
“It’s fresh food that’s prepared on-site; all of the sauces, dressings and marinades are blended with fresh ingredients inside the small space,” says TaKorean CEO and Founder Mike Lenard on the franchise’s first campus location. “I worked with [CPP Dining Services] leadership to bring something like this on campus. The unit is standardized to ensure quality control while also prioritizing fresh preparation, which is unique to college dining.”
TaKorean fills a void that is often missing from typical on-campus dining options: the food is delicious and quick while remaining healthy, light and energizing– a stark contrast from heavier fast-casual options found in many college dining halls.
The menu, featuring Korean staples like bulgogi, kimchi slaw, and spicy cucumbers, satisfies the needs of CPP’s diverse community with its variety of protein, veggie and side options that can be built into the perfect curated bowl, taco or salad for students and staff alike.
