CPP Recognizes Sexual Assault Awareness Month with Campus Events

Cal Poly Pomona stands with victims of sexual violence and recognizes April as Sexual Assault Awareness Month. To raise awareness and educate the community, the campus will host several events aimed around empowerment and advocacy for all survivors of sexual violence.
The university’s Survivor Advocacy Services (SAS) is also available year-round for all CPP students, faculty, and staff who have been impacted by sexual violence, with regular educational and supportive events and programs.
We invite all Broncos to join us in raising awareness, supporting survivors and promoting prevention.
The Clothesline Project Workshop
April 9, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Ursa Minor, Bronco Student Center
Attend a workshop to learn about the Clothesline Project, a visual display of violence statistics that often go ignored. The presentation will highlight the impact of violence and abuse, honor survivors and provide another avenue for them to break the silence that often surrounds their experience. Join us in learning about the different types of violence and abuse, where to seek resources and more.
T.E.A.L. Tuesdays
April 16, 23, 30, 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
Library Patio
Come meet the Title IX staff at the Library Patio and receive a free teal T-shirt for Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Teal is the official color of sexual violence prevention; T.E.A.L. stands for Togetherness, Empowerment, Advocacy and Learning. Wear it every Tuesday to show your support for survivors of sexual violence.
Denim Day
April 24
Celebrate Denim Day by wearing denim on the last Wednesday of April. As the longest running sexual violence prevention and education campaign in history, Denim Day encourages the community to make the fashion statement as a visible means of protest against victim blaming and the destructive myths that surround sexual violence.
Solidarity Walk
April 25, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Student Services Building Breezeway
Show support with survivors of sexual violence as we walk in solidarity for Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Food, resources and poster-making materials will be available throughout the program.
