Annual Giving Day Supports Student Success

Looking to make a difference in the lives of Broncos?
CPP’s Annual Giving Day is back! Giving Day is a 36-hour online fundraising event to support student clubs, initiatives, colleges and events, starting Wednesday, April 17, at 9 a.m. and ending the next night at 9 p.m.
Alumni, parents, students, faculty, staff and friends can unite and make Broncos’ dreams come true by supporting student success. Over the two days, donors can choose to support the initiatives, resources and center that mean most to them — such as the Bronco Racing team, Womxn’s Resource Center, Theatre and New Dance, Lyle Center for Regenerative Studies, BioTrek, student scholarships, travel funds for students to attend competitions and conferences, and more.
“Giving Day provides an opportunity to highlight the success of Broncos on campus, while fundraising for their future success. Together, we can turn 36 hours into 365 days of impact,” said Jorge A. Garduno, associate director of donor digital engagement.
What makes the Giving Day campaign so special is generosity of dozens of donors who have already committed to matching the gifts made during the 36 hours.
For example, alumna Ginny Mendes (’86, accounting) will match all gifts to the Poly Pantry up to $6,000. Also, Distinguished Alumnus Larry Gates (’87, civil engineering) will match all gifts to the American Indian Science and Engineering Society up to $1,000.
“When friends, family, students, faculty and staff give to CPP Giving Day, your dollars go farther. You can multiply your impact by helping unlock challenges and matching funds,” Garduno said.
At the conclusion of the two-day campaign, a Giving Day Celebration will take place Thursday, April 18, at noon in University Park in front of the BSC. Students are invited to indulge in free pizza and write thank-you cards to donors.
