Cal Poly Pomona's Office of Undergraduate Research is gearing up for the 9th Annual Creative Activities & Research Symposium (CARS), a premier platform for students to share their innovative projects, research findings, and creative endeavors.
The symposium, scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 10 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the BSC, will provide a unique opportunity for participating students to share their discoveries and accomplishments with the wider academic community.
"The Creative Activities and Research Symposium (CARS) is a great opportunity for students to showcase their research and creative work," said Winny Dong, director of the Office of Undergraduate Research. "Every year, students from Cal Poly Pomona and other area colleges participate in summer research programs. The CARS symposium is a chance for these students to share their findings with the Cal Poly Pomona community and get feedback from their peers and mentors."
This year's symposium will feature a diverse range of presentations, exhibitions, and performances that highlight the remarkable achievements of the students. From thought-provoking research posters and engaging oral presentations to captivating visual art displays, the event is intended to draw in the attendees.
"The CARS symposium is also a great way to learn about the latest research being conducted at Cal Poly Pomona. Students can attend presentations on a wide range of topics, from engineering to the humanities," Dong said. "The symposium is also a great networking opportunity. Students can meet other students who are interested in research, and they can connect with faculty members who can mentor them in their future research endeavors. I encourage all students who have done research over the summer to participate in the CARS symposium. It's a great way to share your work, learn from others, and network with potential mentor."
The symposium is open to all members of the Cal Poly Pomona community, including students, faculty, staff, and the general public. It serves as an excellent opportunity for students to gain exposure and recognition for their hard work while fostering a spirit of intellectual curiosity and academic excellence.
For those attending the Creative Activities & Research Symposium, the event will not only provide an opportunity to support the talented individuals who have dedicated themselves to their chosen fields but also offer valuable insights into the latest advancements in various disciplines. The symposium encourages cross-disciplinary collaboration and provides a platform for networking with like-minded individuals who share a passion for research and creativity.
To attend the event, RSVP for an unforgettable day of inspiration, innovation, and discovery.
