Celebrate Spring with a burst of color and spice. Cal Poly Pomona's annual Pepperzania sale, featuring more than 160 varieties of pepper plants, begins Saturday, April 29, at the Cal Poly Pomona Farm Store.

Varieties include serrano, jalapeno, hatch, poblano/mole, sweet, specialty, Peruvian and Asian peppers. The sale will include classics like Orange Sun Bells and El Jefe Jalapenos as well as some uncommon varieties like Aji Chaparita, Tepin, Mad Hatter Pepper, and Purple Serrano Peppers. Asian peppers include Basket of Fire, Cayenne Golden, Chinese Five Color, Thai Burupa and shishito.

All plants are grown by Cal Poly Pomona students majoring in plant science. Proceeds benefit the plant science program and the students.

In addition to the peppers, the nursery also will have a grand array of spring plants to jump start the home garden, including tomatoes, herbs, zucchini, squash, cucumbers, beans, lettuce, strawberries, dragon fruit and more.
